The Edward Dziewoński Kwadrat Theatre was established in the 1970s of the XXth century at the initiative of the Committee of Radio and Television Broadcasting, but it ceased operating under martial law. In the Kwadrat reactivated in 1985

Edmund Kamil Karwański held the position of director (until 2010), currently the position is held by Andrzej Nejman. The theater's repertoire consists primarily of comedies and contemporary farces, both Polish and English, French and American.
